DC Police Seek Suspect Who Shot, Killed 32-Year-Old In 2021

D.C. police have identified the suspect they are looking for in connection to a 2021 fatal shooting, officials said.

On August 23, 2021, at around 2:30 a.m., Ali Al-Mahdi was found in the 1800 Block of 9th Street suffering from gunshot wounds, according to the Metropolitan Police Department.

Al-Mahdi was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead, authorities reported.

The suspect was identified as 26-year-old Deonte Patterson, who is wanted for second degree murder while armed, police said.

Police said they are offering a $25,000 reward for anyone with information that could lead to Patterson's arrest.
